Model UN Beginner Teams
Learn public speaking skills and debate world issues in Model United Nations!
The MUN Beginner Team is a fun and engaging after-school online program where students learn public speaking and debating, and work together with new friends in preparation for attending two Model United Nations Training Conferences.
In this program, you will:
- Learn public speaking and debate skills
- Represent different countries and solve world issues
- Attend two Best Delegate MUN Training Conferences
- Be inspired by engaging MUN Mentors
- Make new friends who are hopeful about the future
- Build confidence and celebrate team success
The program runs from February 21 to April 29 (10 weeks). Students attend 2 MUN Conferences on March 19 and April 23.
Students meet for one hour per week at one of the following days and times:
|Week 1||February 21-25||Welcome - Team icebreakers and goal-setting. What happens at a Model UN?|
|Week 2||Feb. 28 - Mar. 4||Research - Research your country and topic for the March MUN Conference|
|Week 3||March 7-11||Public Speaking - learn how to make an opening speech on your country policy|
|Week 4||March 14-18||Negotiation - practice the art of diplomacy and building allies in MUN|
|March Conference||March 19 (Saturday)||Debate at the Best Delegate MUN Training Conference in March|
|Week 5||March 21-25||Debrief from the conference and receive your next country/topic assignment|
|Week 6||Mar. 28 - Apr. 1||Resolutions - learn how turn your solutions into a MUN resolution|
|Week 7||April 4-8||Public Speaking - build your impromptu speaking and debating skills|
|Week 8||April 11-15||Negotiation - practice managing teams of countries with different perspectives|
|Week 9||April 18-22||Resolutions - pitch creative and realistic solutions to a MUN Shark Tank|

|Week 10||April 25-29||Team Banquet to reflect and celebrate the team’s successes and friendships!|

Private Coaching Optional Add-On
Private Coaching is a 1-on-1 personalized experience where an expert college MUN award-winner helps a student accelerate their preparation for their upcoming Model UN conference.
Students will have 4 one-hour sessions with a MUN Mentor, including:
- Session 1 (Pre-Conference): Research
- Session 2 (Pre-Conference): Public Speaking
- Session 3 (Pre-Conference): Possible Solutions
- Session 4 (Post-Conference): Debriefing and Reflection
Flexible dates and times allow students to work on their MUN skills on their own schedule, and prepare for their upcoming conference with ease!
Private Coaching is $299 for 4 one-hour session package. Students can sign up for 1 package (to use for either the March or April conferences), or sign up for 2 packages for both conferences.
